Denmark vs England: Harry Kane and Co will be beaten by Danes? England legend makes big claim

England continue their Euro 2024 journey in Frankfurt on Thursday, facing Denmark in their second Group C match. This follows their narrow 1-0 win over Serbia. In contrast, Denmark secured only a point against Slovenia in their opening game.

Despite England's successful start in Germany, concerns arose from their performance in the second half. Serbia managed to find their way back into the game, leading to a tense finish. However, Denmark is considered a stronger team than Serbia.

Harry Kane

Former England striker, Alan Shearer, remains confident about England's chances. "I think when you look at Denmark, who they are and how they play, I would view it very much like I did the first game for England," Shearer told Betfair.

"I would expect us to win the game and build their confidence. It won't be easy but it would be a game I would expect England to win," he added.

The former England international also predicted a 2-0 or 3-0 victory for his country, which will ensure their qualification to the Round of 16.

Recalling their past encounter, England and Denmark met in the Euro 2020 semi-finals at Wembley Stadium. That tense match saw England triumph 2-1 in extra time, thanks to a decisive goal from Harry Kane. Unfortunately, England later lost to Italy in the final on penalties.

Thursday's match against Denmark will be crucial for England to maintain their momentum. Fans and experts alike are eager to see how Gareth Southgate's side will perform.

As the match day approaches, anticipation builds. Supporters are hopeful for a commanding performance from the Three Lions. A victory against Denmark could significantly boost their confidence and position in Group C.

The game promises to be an exciting contest, with both teams eager to make their mark in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
