Derby County celebrated a commanding 4-0 win over Portsmouth, ending their six-game winless run in the Championship. The Rams dominated early, scoring three times within the first half-hour. Marlon Pack's own goal later secured Derby's victory, helping them move away from the relegation zone.

Portsmouth struggled throughout the match and remain just above the relegation zone. They are only ahead of Cardiff City due to having scored more goals. Despite having one significant opportunity, they failed to challenge Jacob Widell Zetterstrom on Friday.

The home team wasted no time, breaking through Portsmouth's defence in just eight minutes. Nathaniel Mendez-Laing delivered a precise pass to Kane Wilson, who finished from close range. Eiran Cashin then doubled the lead with a powerful header, followed by Ebou Adams' deflected goal off Tom McIntyre before 30 minutes had passed.

Jerry Yates managed to test Nicolas Schmid with a solid attempt before halftime. However, Derby eased their pressure in the second half. Marcus Harness, a former Portsmouth player, saw his low cross turned into an own goal by Pack in the 65th minute.

Derby nearly added a fifth goal late in the game when Abdoulaye Kamara's careless backpass was almost intercepted by Kayden Jackson. Jackson wrongfooted the goalkeeper but Schmid quickly recovered to prevent further embarrassment for Kamara.
