London, August 3: Diego Costa is set to leave Stamford Bridge before the transfer window shuts after being told by manager Antonio Conte that he is surplus to his plans.
Following the capture of his compatriot Alvaro Morata for club record fee from Real Madrid, Chelsea have given a more clear indication on the departure of the troublesome Spaniard.

Originally it had been reported the Spanish international would return to his former club Atletico Madrid, but talks have stalled.
The Spanish side were banned in July 2016 from registering players for two transfer windows for breaching Fifa rules over the signing of minors. The ban was further upheld until January 2018 by the Court of Arbitration for Sport earlier in June this year.
And now, according to Sky Sport Italia, Costa is open to listening to an offer from Italian giants AC Milan.
The striker has lost patience waiting for Atletico who he can join only January and he is keen to learn what a move to the Serie A side would entail.
Chelsea have reportedly set an asking price of £50 million and are happy to do a deal with Milan if they stump up the cash.
The price tag looks less of an obstacle for the Serie A club who have already spent close to a whopping €215.3 million to reignite their cup success with the capture of ten players including a shock move for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, and also the Turkish playmaker Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Ricardo Rodriguez and Andre Silva to name a few.
The Spaniard still hasn't reported to training at Chelsea and adds more drama to the transfer window, it will be a big surprise if Costa doesn't move before the summer transfer deadline day.
