
London, Nov 21: Diego Maradona shared his happiness with a Facebook post following Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Manchester United come back after seven long months.
The legendary Swede injured his knee ligaments on 20 April against Anderlecht in the Europa League Quarterfinal and after enduring such career threatening injury there was a fear that his career could be all but over. However, the former PSG man surprising everyone returned back to full match fitness within seven months.
Ibrahimovic started the game on the bench in the Newcastle match but was called into the game by Mourinho for the last 10 minutes.
The Swedish retired already looked on shape during his limited outing where he almost scored a goal with a scissor kick in the last minutes of the game.
After the game, the forward also jokingly claimed that his recovery strength is extraordinary because "lions they do not recover like humans." But the 35-year-old later stated that his injury was very grave but he is now happy to be back.
"If people knew the real injury, they would be in shock that I was even playing. It was more than the knee but I will keep it personal – that’s why I choose not to talk of it,” he said after his 13-minute cameo against Newcastle.
His arrival to the game in such a style received acclaim from all around the globe and Argentine World Cup winner, could not also hold out his delight after seeing the Swedish top scorer figure back out on the field.
He made a post on his Facebook profile that translates to: “Happy, because he came back Zlatan Ibrahimovic!!! Football was waiting for you…”
Zlatan scored 28 goals for United in all competitions last season before injuring his knee and after his return, he will now be hoping to play a big role for Jose Mourinho's men throughout the rest of this season.
