Domenico Tedesco Named Bologna Head Coach As Club Replaces Italiano
Bologna confirm Domenico Tedesco as their new head coach on a two-year contract, with an option for a further season. The 40-year-old arrives after leading Fenerbahce from September 2025 until April 2026, delivering the Turkish Super Cup. Across Tedesco’s managerial career, there have been 247 matches, yielding 124 wins, 56 draws and 67 defeats, with his sides scoring 417 goals.
Tedesco’s spell at Fenerbahce brings strong numbers, with 45 games coached and 26 victories, alongside 12 draws and seven losses. That record produces a 57.8% win rate, the best figure of Tedesco’s career at any club. Before moving to Turkey, Tedesco worked in the Bundesliga with Schalke and RB Leipzig and also managed the Belgian national team, taking charge at Euro 2024.

Bologna state that Tedesco replaces Vincenzo Italiano and will assume duties immediately. Tedesco landed in Bologna on Tuesday for a first official day at the training ground and is scheduled to be presented to the club on Thursday. Bologna finished eighth in Serie A last season, missing European qualification, and exited in the quarter-finals of both the Europa League and the Coppa Italia.
