Donovan hails Beckham for his contribution to LA Galaxy

Los Angeles, Aug. 10 (ANI): David Beckham and his LA Galaxy team-mate Landon Donovan seem to have put their differences aside as Beckham was praised by Donovan for his contribution in Galaxy's 2-1 victory over New England.

"David's been great since he's been back, in every way. He's added something off the field to the group and his qualities on the field make us a lot better," The Telegraph quoted Donovan, as saying.

The pair had a falling out when Donovan slammed Beckham's captaincy and his lack of commitment to the MLS earlier this year.

Donovan further said there was no longer any issue between them and that he was impressed by Beckham's attitude since his return from a loan spell at AC Milan.

"Regarding the book, no one wants to hear those kind of things about them, especially like that. David's taken it like a man and has moved on from it," Donovan said.

Meanwhile, Beckham has squashed criticism that he had become England's most capped outfield player through substitute appearances.

"It amazes me. Have they never heard of substitutes? My critics talk about 'cheap' caps and about only coming on for a few minutes at the end in some games. I know it upsets some people," Beckham said.

"But let's get it right. I have started 100 games for England, and that's a milestone in itself. So I don't listen to those critics. What does matter to me is the reaction of the fans," he added. (ANI)
