Borussia Dortmund's manager, Nuri Sahin, is urging his team to show more consistency as they aim to secure a top-four finish in the Bundesliga. Their recent 3-1 victory over Wolfsburg marked their first away league win this season, moving them to sixth place. They are now just two points behind third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt and fourth-placed RB Leipzig.
The win against Wolfsburg ended a three-game winless streak and put Dortmund in the last spot for European football qualification. Despite this, Sahin expressed dissatisfaction with their current league position and stressed the need for steadiness throughout the rest of the season. "There were a lot of ups and downs," Sahin remarked after the match.

Dortmund had only managed to gather two points from their away games before Sunday's match, marking their worst start on the road in 33 years. The victory against Wolfsburg was also their first away win since April 13, when they defeated Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1, breaking an eight-match winless run.
Sahin highlighted that while the table looks better now, it could have been even more favourable if they had secured a win against Hoffenheim last week instead of drawing 1-1. During that game, Pascal Gross received a red card after Dortmund had taken a commanding 3-0 lead in the second half.
Julian Brandt, who returned from injury, commented on the situation: "A 3-0 lead should give you enough confidence to see the game out comfortably." He acknowledged that criticism was warranted for their second-half performance and emphasised the need for more confident play.
Maximilian Beier, aged 22, shared his thoughts on finding a fresh start in the new year. "We can't aim to be sixth," he stated. Dortmund consistently finished in the Bundesliga top four between 2015-16 and 2022-23 but ended up fifth last season, trailing champions Bayer Leverkusen by 27 points.
Their upcoming challenge is against Bayer Leverkusen at Signal Iduna Park on January 10. This match will be crucial as they strive to regain their place among Germany's elite teams.
