Guirassy At Dortmund: Director Denies Fenerbahce Bid And Emphasises Value
Borussia Dortmund managing director Lars Ricken has dismissed claims that Serhou Guirassy is close to leaving the club for Fenerbahce. Ricken made clear there are no talks in place, despite public statements from figures in Istanbul. The comments underline Dortmund’s stance that Guirassy remains central to their plans for the coming seasons.
Reports in Turkey had linked the Guinea international with a move if Fenerbahce presidential candidate Aziz Yildirim wins the club election. Yildirim publicly expressed an intention to sign Guirassy, while rival candidate Hakan Safi suggested negotiations had already started. Both candidates also mentioned Marseille forward Mason Greenwood as another possible attacking option.

Ricken moved to address the speculation during an interview with German outlet WAZ. He stressed Dortmund have neither engaged in talks nor changed their position on the striker’s future. "We have had no offer for Serhou. We also have no intention of letting him go, he said. He has impressively proven his value for Borussia Dortmund over the past two seasons."
Guirassy joined Dortmund from Stuttgart in July 2024 and has since become a key figure in the attack. In the Bundesliga, Guirassy has scored 38 goals in 56 appearances for BVB. Across all competitions, the forward has found the net 60 times in 84 games, underlining consistent end product at domestic and European level.
Guirassy has also delivered in the Champions League, scoring 17 goals in 24 matches for Dortmund. Since Guirassy’s arrival at Signal Iduna Park, only Harry Kane with 25 goals and Kylian Mbappe with 22 have scored more in the competition. Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez has matched Guirassy’s total over the same period.
The striker’s numbers in German league play extend beyond Dortmund. Guirassy hit 28 goals for Stuttgart in the final season before moving to BVB. Across the last three Bundesliga campaigns, Guirassy has scored 66 league goals. Only Kane, with 98 strikes since the start of 2023-24, has a better record, reinforcing Dortmund’s reluctance to consider any sale.
