Munich, Nov 26: Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that Juventus have agreed to activate the buy-out clause for Douglas Costa in a club record deal and the Brazilian will move permanently to the Italian side at the end of the season for €46 million.
The 27-year-old Brazilian winger has been on loan at the Serie A champions since the start of the season and already has made ten appearances, five as a starter in Serie A this season.
His performance at the Old Lady has not been yet up to the mark as the winger has only registered one goal and three assists in the meantime as manager Allegri claimed that the player needs time to adjust his gameplay in new condition.
However, it did not stop the Turin based club to acquire the player completely as the defending champions have reportedly already activated the buy out from his contract which will be permanent in the next season.
"Douglas Costa will definitely be sold to Juventus in the summer for €46m," Rummenigge said at his club's annual general meeting when the German champions announced a record turnover.
The fee will be the most expensive sale in Bayern's history, beating the 25m euros they got when Toni Kroos went to Real Madrid in 2014
Costa played at Bayern for two years after signing from Shakhtar Donetsk in a €30million move. He enjoyed a brilliant first season in Germany, scoring four and assisting 14 goals in 27 Bundesliga appearances under Pep Guardiola and winning the League and Pokal.
However, after enduring a superb first season, he underwent a frustrating period last year with only 14 starts and scoring four goals, adding three assists in Bundesliga under Ancelotti which prompted him to move from the German giants to have more playing time.
