Both have assembled a strong squad, Mohun Bagan Super Giant probably even better on paper, are powerhouses and with passionate fans rooting for them at home, will look to end their long-anticipated wait for their 17th Durand crown.

Not to be underestimated, Gokulam Kerala FC, the champions in 2019, will enter the competition as dark horses. With an impressive lineup, they have the potential to surprise their opponents and make a significant impact.

Other teams like Mumbai City FC and FC Goa also have the required big-match temperament and the squad to go the distance in the 132nd IndianOil Durand Cup.

The fate of these teams and others of course also depends a lot on how some of their key players perform. Mohun Bagan Super Giant for example have the likes of established India international Anirudh Thapa in their ranks on the one hand and Australian world-cupper Jason Cummings on the other. Similarly, the Islanders will look to improve upon their runner-up performance of last year with the helpof new signings like Akaksh Mishra and Tiri, among others.
