Jamshedpur FC secured their second win in the 133rd IndianOil Durand Cup with a 2-1 triumph over Chennaiyin FC at the Tata Sports Complex. Goals from Wungngayam Muirang and Jordan Murray proved decisive, allowing Jamshedpur to maintain their perfect record in Group D following their initial victory over Assam Rifles.
Chennaiyin FC's Vincy Barretto scored a spectacular long-range goal in injury time, but it was not enough to prevent their second defeat, following a loss to the Indian Army in their opening match.

Both teams, managed by Indian coaches, made three changes from their previous fixtures. Khalid Jamil's Jamshedpur FC adopted an attacking strategy with four forwards, while Noel Wilson's Chennaiyin FC employed a traditional 4-3-3 formation, bolstered by experienced defenders Romario Jesuraj and captain Bikash Yumnam.
Chennaiyin FC started strongly, putting Jamshedpur's defense under pressure in the opening 15 minutes. However, Jamshedpur FC gradually gained control and took the lead just past the half-hour mark. Mobashir Rahman's precise corner found Manipuri defender Wungngayam Muirang, who headed home to put the Red Miners ahead.
Chennaiyin had a chance to equalize shortly after, when Muirang was judged to have fouled Irfan inside the box. However, the resulting penalty was missed by the young striker.
At halftime, Jamil brought on Spanish forward Javier Siverio in place of Aniket Jadhav. As the second half progressed, both coaches made further substitutions. Wilson's tactical adjustments included a double change just after the hour mark, but it was Jamil's substitution that made the difference. Jordan Murray, who had come on earlier, scored with a powerful header from an Md. Imran cross to double Jamshedpur's lead.
Despite Chennaiyin's valiant effort, they managed only a consolation goal in injury time. Vincy Barretto unleashed a stunning 30-yard shot that beat Jamshedpur's goalkeeper Albino Gomes, preventing a clean sheet but not enough to alter the outcome of the match.
