Durand Cup 2024: Jamshedpur FC vs Assam Rifles FT Preview, Head-To-Head, Lineup, Live Streaming and Telecast

Jamshedpur FC begin their historic run in this year's edition of the Durand Cup. For the first time, they will be hosting the prestigious competition at their own backyard. They will begin the journey with a match against the Assam Rifles Football Team on Sunday.

Before the match that will be held on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur, there will be a ceremony similar to the one that happened at the Salt Lake Stadium on the Durand Cup 2024 opening day on July 27th before the Mohun Bagan vs Downtown Heroes match.

The spectator will be treated to an exhilarating skydiving demonstration as well as a flypast by the Army Aviation Wing Rotary Wing aircraft. A series of other cultural events will also follow, before their Chief Guest, Hemant Soren who is the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, begins the game with a ceremonial kick-off of the match ball.

Jamshedpur FC, often known as the Red Miners, is led by head coach Khalid Jamil. Now, with the opportunity to play at home in a major event like this, will hope to dominate Assam Rifles. Before the match, the coach said, “A good start is crucial, and every single player and staff member is focused and geared up for this match.”

On the other hand, Assam Rifles who last participated in the 130th edition of the competition, will look to pull-off an upset in the Group and make life difficult for the teams coming to play from the ISL and I-League. The last time they played in the competition, the boys lost all three of their group matches and were knocked out.
