The 133rd edition of the Durand Cup football tournament will commence on July 27.
This year's edition of Asia's oldest football tournament will be held in two new cities, Jamshedpur and Shillong, in addition to Kokrajhar in Assam and Kolkata.

The upcoming edition will feature 24 teams from various sectors of Indian football, including the Indian Super League, I-League, invitational teams, and Armed Forces squads. International teams are also expected to participate this year, as they did last year.
The tournament will consist of 43 matches played in a round-robin league-cum-knockout format. The 24 teams will be divided into six groups, with eight teams - group winners and two best second-placed sides - advancing to the knockout stage.
Kolkata will host three groups while Kokrajhar, Shillong, and Jamshedpur will each host one group. The three prestigious Durand Trophies will embark on a nationwide tour starting in New Delhi on July 10 before arriving in Kolkata ahead of the opening match at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) on July 27.
The tournament shall continue till August 31. The final will be played at the Vivekanand Yuba Bharati Krirangan on August 31.
Mohun Bagan Super Giant are the current defending champions after winning the tournament for a record-breaking 17th time last year beating arch-rivals East Bengal.
