Jamshedpur FC have begun their Durand Cup 2025 campaign with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Nepal's Tribhuvan Army FT.
Head coach Khalid Jamil fielded six new signings in the starting lineup, with debutants Sarthak Golui and Manvir Singh both finding the net in an eventful contest.

Jamshedpur made a strong start, taking the lead in the 4th minute. A long throw-in from Praful Kumar caused disarray in the Tribhuvan defence, allowing Golui to react quickest and slot home the opening goal.
Tribhuvan Army found their equaliser in the 26th minute when captain George Karki capitalised on a lapse in concentration at the back. However, Jamshedpur quickly regained control. In the 32nd minute, winger Vincy Barretto set up Manvir Singh, who scored from a difficult angle to restore the advantage.
The hosts came close to extending the lead on multiple occasions before the break. Sanan saw his header land on the roof of the net, while Jayesh Rane narrowly missed a tap-in following a low cross from the right.
The second half resumed with high intensity. Praful Kumar had a clear header from a set-piece in the 57th minute but failed to hit the target. Moments later, Ananta Tamang brought the visitors level again with a powerful strike from distance in the 63rd minute.
Jamshedpur responded swiftly. Substitute Nikhil Barla made an immediate impact, scoring just moments after coming on. Cutting in from the right, the youngster finished confidently to make it 3-2 in the 71st minute and seal the win.
With three points secured, Jamshedpur FC will next face Indian Army Football Team on July 29 as they aim to build momentum in the group stage.
