The Durand Cup 2025 quarter-final line-up has been confirmed, and football fans are in for a treat with the iconic Kolkata Derby set to headline the knockout stage. East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant, two of Indian football's most celebrated clubs, will clash in a high-stakes encounter for a spot in the semi-finals.
Both sides have been in outstanding form this season, topping their respective groups with perfect winning records. They also lead the tournament in goals scored-12 each. Defensively, East Bengal have been slightly stronger, conceding just once compared to Mohun Bagan's two goals conceded. Historically, the rivalry is fierce, with the Mariners boasting a record 17 Durand Cup titles, while East Bengal trail closely with 16.

The last time these two giants met in this competition was in 2023, when Mohun Bagan edged out East Bengal 1-0 in the final. More recently, East Bengal claimed a thrilling 3-2 win in last month's CFL derby. That game featured reserve squads, but this time, the senior teams will face off in the 137-year-old tournament, raising the stakes even higher.
The Durand Cup organisers have confirmed that online ticket sales for the Kolkata derby match will begin on 14th August at 11 AM via the BookMyShow app. Mind it, only two tickets per transaction will be allowed. Fans purchasing tickets online will need to redeem them physically at the Mohammedan Sporting Club Box Office, Maidan, between 11 AM and 5 PM. Redemption will be open from 14th August until match day on 17th August.
The game will kick off at 7 PM on 17th August, and excitement is already building among supporters. As far as the offline ticket sales are concerned, those interested in offline options are advised to visit the respective club tents and go straight to the East Bengal Club Box Office (For EB Fans) and Mohun Bagan Athletic Club Box Office (For MB Fans).
