East Bengal and Md Sporting share points in Indian League

Kolkata, Nov 2 (UNI) Promotee Mohameddan Sporting and former champions East Bengal played out a 0-0 draw and shared a point each in a dull game at end of the sixth round of Indian League at Yuba Bharati Krirangan here this evening.

The so called big two of the city were still limping to catch up with the others in the second edition of the championship as East Bengal were with seven points from six matches and Md Sporting ar on five.

The other big club, Mohun Bagan, were on six points and debutant United SC were on five.

Md Sporting goalie Taranga Achine was adjusted man-of-the-match for saving two possible goals. He first deflected a free kick from Renedy Singh in the 34th minute and then warded off Sunil Chettri's header on the 72 mintues.

Coach Shabbir Ali praised his boys and said they did good to prevent India's top class side from scoring.

EB coach Stanley Rozario said Yusif Yukubu's going off field on the 20mintues was greatest setback for his side.

The Nigerian was taken off after having fever and Praveeen Kumar took the field but he could not come up with expectation.
