East Bengal head coach Oscar Bruzon and midfielder Jeakson Singh addressed the media in a press conference ahead of their crucial ISL away fixture against Chennaiyin FC.
The duo discussed team preparedness, challenges posed by opponents Chennaiyin FC, and the squad's handling of fatigue and suspensions amidst a congested schedule.

Bruzon acknowledged the team's grueling schedule, noting the back-to-back matches since the AFC Challenge League.
"We are in a moment of fatigue and accumulation of games. Since the AFC Challenge League, we've been playing every week," he explained. To manage this, the team has been cautious with player workloads during practice sessions. Key player Hector was rested during training but is expected to return soon.
Bruzon emphasized the importance of squad depth, stating, "Some players are stepping up during these challenging times. Last week, Vishnu seized his opportunity and delivered a strong performance." He hinted at rewarding those who have impressed recently with continuity in playing time.
The coach praised Chennaiyin FC as a formidable and physical team, led by an experienced manager. He emphasized their vertical gameplay and reliance on set pieces, warning that such traits could pose significant problems.
"They are a mature, physical side. While they've struggled in recent games, that will only make them hungrier in front of their home fans," Bruzon said.
The environmental conditions in Chennai, including humidity and the ongoing typhoon, were acknowledged as additional factors that might affect the team. However, Bruzon remained confident, stating that the result would hinge more on execution than location.
Singh reflected on playing in an unfamiliar position in the last match but said he was prepared to adapt for the team.
"It's true that I usually don't play in that position. It depends on the coach if I want to continue or not. But it was the role that the coach gave me to help the team.
So I was doing my best to help the team. In the future if I get a chance to play, give me this role, I will do my best to help the team," Jeakson said.
Regarding Chennaiyin, he labeled them one of the most unpredictable teams in the league.
"They are a physical team, and it's difficult to play against them. We will try to control the game and get the three points," Singh added.
Bruzon also addressed concerns about suspensions, with several players, including key defenders, sitting on yellow cards. "We are aware of the risks and need to avoid unnecessary bookings. But at times, professional fouls are unavoidable to stop counterattacks," he explained.
Bruzon also hopes for a return of Hector Yuste to the team and the Spaniard's return to fitness may earn him a place on Sunday.
East Bengal looks to build on their unbeaten streak as they face a motivated Chennaiyin FC. After their first victory of the season against Northeast United, the challenge for the Red and Gold Brigade will be to get their first away win of the season.
