East Bengal Head Coach Oscar Bruzon gives Open Letter, Announces Departure from Club
East Bengal head coach Oscar Bruzon, who rallied them to the ISL title this season, has announced his departure from the club.
East Bengal won the ISL title after a wait of 22 years, which was a magical moment for the club. But soon after that, their championship-winning coach confirmed that he won't be at the club for next season.

Despite intense pushback from a star-studded Mohun Bagan side, East Bengal exhibited incredible defensive resilience and clinical efficiency in clutch moments. By managing crucial victories in the business end of the tournament and maintaining their composure during high-friction fixtures, East Bengal successfully staved off their traditional rivals to seal a historic league championship.
The Bitter-Sweet Climax: Head Coach Oscar Bruzon Bids Farewell
However, just as the championship celebrations peaked, a major announcement shifted the club's future landscape. As seen in the official "Open Letter to the Red and Gold faithful" shared on Instagram, Head Coach Oscar Bruzon delivered a poignant farewell message to the fans, reflecting on a season filled with immense emotional highs and heartbreaking near-misses.
Addressing the supporters as the "heart and soul of East Bengal FC," Bruzon encapsulated the historic weight of the achievement.
"This season is one I will carry with me forever. Winning the Indian Super League was historic, and every person actively involved in the senior team earned it. They are exceptional professionals and, above all, exceptional people. We reached also two prestigious Cup finals, the Durand Cup and the Indian Supercup, both lost on penalties. It hurt deeply, but the character and composure this squad showed to recover and win the ISL is something we all should be proud of."
With the season concluding, Bruzon highlighted that a large number of player and coaching contracts expired on the 31st of May. Emphasizing that "clarity, planning, and vision are paramount" for long-term sporting success, the tactician formally announced that he and his core staff would be moving on.
"And so, Adrián, Javier and I, as we stated one month back during a PC, we have decided we will not be continuing at East Bengal FC further. I am deeply grateful to every player, staff member, Emami, club officials, and supporters who were part of this journey. You gave everything, and I hope we gave you too something to be proud of in return. East Bengal FC will always have a special place in my heart."
While the departure of Oscar Bruzon and his staff introduces immediate administrative challenges as the club heads into the off-season, the legacy of this specific campaign is completely secure. The Red and Gold brigade are once again the undisputed kings of the pitch, leaving their faithful army with a historic triumph that will be celebrated for generations to come.
