East Bengal will be aiming for their first national-level title since 2012 on January 28. Winning the final will be a massive boost to their ISL aspirations of finishing among the top six and qualifying for the play-off stages.

The Carles Cuadrat-coached side is currently eighth on the ISL 2023-24 points table and is 15 points off the table toppers Kerala Blasters. However, the sixth spot is within East Bengal's grasp as they are just a point away from NorthEast United.

The side will also be back to full strength with Noarem Mahesh Singh and Lalchunnunga returning to the squad after national duty in Qatar for the AFC Asian Cup 2023. The club is reportedly pursuing a foreign signing to find themselves a potent attacking threat in front of the goal. There is shadow of doubt over the future of Javier Siverio Toro, who has failed to score any goal in ISL 2023-24.
