East Bengal's new signing Richard Celis has looked confident since joining the club in the January window.
With an important away fixture against Mumbai City FC looming, head coach Oscar Bruzon and midfielder Richard Celis addressed questions from the press, reflecting on their journey, the team's progress, and the road ahead.

Richard Celis, who joined the team recently, was asked about adapting to Indian football. The Venezuelan midfielder expressed gratitude for the club's welcoming environment, crediting the players, coaching staff, and management for making his transition seamless.
"From the first day I arrived, they have given me a lot of confidence, and that has been fundamental for me to adapt to the rhythm and style of football here," he said.
He acknowledged that he had little prior knowledge of Indian football but was influenced by former teammate Miku, who had shared positive experiences about the league. Celis emphasized his winning mentality, stating that he joined East Bengal with the ambition of making a difference.
"Whenever I go to a club, I go with the conviction of being a champion," Celis added.
While the team has struggled at times, he remains committed to improving their performance and pushing for success.
Coach Bruzon provided an in-depth assessment of the team's current situation, particularly addressing injury concerns. He reassured that the injuries were not due to conditioning or fitness issues but were largely football-related traumas and recurring problems from the past.
Despite setbacks, Brussaux remained optimistic, emphasizing the team's adaptability. He stressed the importance of "positional flexibility," as players have had to take on unfamiliar roles due to injuries.
When asked about Mumbai City FC, he acknowledged their possession-based style but remained confident in East Bengal's approach.
"They have top players and a strong midfield, but we are aware of their weaknesses and will be ready to compete," Bruzon concluded.
