East Bengal have parted ways with head coach Carles Cuadrat. This is their fifth coach in the short span of four years and Cuadrat could be called the most successful of them all considering he ended the Torch Bearers' 12-year trophy drought as he helped them win the Super Cup last season.
The fans' expectations from 'El Profesor' generally increased but he couldn't deliver in the Indian Super League last season. The same story continued since the ISL 2024-25 began. After losing all three of their first three league matches, it seems the club reached their breaking point and parted ways with Cuadrat.

As per the official statement coming from the club, East Bengal youth team head coach Bino George will act as the interim manager until the club finds a suitable solution for the vacant post. There are a few options who could be considered for the position -
Antonio Habas
Antonio Habas is a two-time ISL champion, having won titles with ATK in 2014 and 2019-2020. Renowned for his defensive organization and counter-attacking style, he played a key role in shaping the tactical evolution of the ISL. He guided ATK Mohun Bagan to the 2020-2021 final.
Habas briefly stepped away after that but returned to manage Mohun Bagan in the 2023-24 season. He took over the Mariners in the middle of the season as the club was going through a bad spell following injuries plaguing them. He turned it around for them to help them win their first shield and even took them to the cup final.
Ivan Vukomanovic
Ivan Vukomanović, the head coach of Kerala Blasters, has significantly impacted the Indian Super League since joining in 2021. He led Kerala to the ISL 2021-22 final, revitalizing the team's competitive spirit with a balanced style of play.
Known for his tactical flexibility and emphasis on youth development, Vukomanović has earned praise for improving the club's performances, making Kerala Blasters a consistent playoff contender under his leadership.
Staikos Vergetis
Staikos Vergetis joined the Indian Super League as head coach of NorthEast United FC for the 2023-24 season. Known for his tactical knowledge from managing clubs in Greece, Vergetis aims to revitalize NorthEast United, a team that has struggled in recent seasons.
His focus on defensive stability and structured play is expected to bring much-needed consistency. Vergetis' appointment has brought optimism to the club, as they aim to become playoff contenders under his guidance.
