East Bengal's Prabhsukhan Gill 'positive and ready' for Kolkata Derby despite Goa Setback: Exclusive

East Bengal goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill says the latest defeat against FC Goa won't affect their preparation for the upcoming ISL match against Mohun Bagan Super Giant.

East Bengal's playoff hopes took a major hit again as they suffered the defeat in Goa, courtesy of a solitary Noah Sadaoui goal. Goa wasted numerous opportunities, but the score could have been worse had Prabhsukhan Gill not been there.

The East Bengal shot-stopper made a few decent saves to keep Goa at bay, the best of which came from a Noah Sadaoui shot in the first half.

After the match, in an exclusive yet brief chat with MyKhel, Prabhsukhan Gill opened up on the performance of the team and asserted that the Goa defeat is just a part and parcel of the game.

"This is football. Someday you win and someday you lose. But we have to remain focused for the final few matches of the season," Gill said exclusively to MyKhel.

East Bengal coach Carles Cuadrat mentioned the importance of the Kolkata Derby, and Gill also echoed that, stating the upcoming clash against Mohun Bagan will be a different game altogether.

The East Bengal team reached Kolkata on Thursday (March 7) and the focus now shifts to the 'Boro Match' against Mohun Bagan Super Giant. A defeat in this match can mean curtains for East Bengal's playoff hopes.

"It's a big match. We are positive and hopefully, we will get a result. The result of this match won't affect that," Prabhsukhan continued.

With just four ISL matches to go, the Red and Gold Brigade will have to create history to make it to the playoffs. They haven't ever won consecutive games in the ISL, but they have to break the hoodoo in order to reach the playoffs this season. But Prabhsukhan states they want to take it game by game and fight till the very end.
