Extensions: Cleiton Silva, Saul Crespo, Hijazi Maher, Mohamed Rakip, Nishu Kumar
The Torch Bearers have brought in the Greek striker, Dimitrios Diamantakos from Kerala Blasters FC, who should be able to provide a much-needed goal-scoring threat for them. Another excellent addition to the team has been Madih Talal, a talented young midfielder who has arrived from Punjab FC.
They have also secured the signings of David Lalhlansanga from Mohammedan SC, who recently promoted to the Indian Super League. Hence, the player will soon face his former club. Another foreign player, Mark Zothanpuia, has arrived from Hyderabad FC. Both of these players are expected to add depth and quality to the team.
These new players will join several key players from the last season who have extended their contracts so far with the club. The list includes Saul Crespo, Hijazi Maher, Mohamed Rakip, Nishu Kumar, and their captain Cleiton Silva. On the other hand, they have bid adieu to only one player so far - Mandar Rao Desai.
Desai has left the club to join and play for Chennaiyin FC for the upcoming season. These signings and contract extensions clearly state East Bengal's ambition to build a strong and competitive squad for the upcoming season. Fans will be eager to see how the new additions integrate with the existing squad and help the club challenge for top honors in the ISL.
