East Bengal vs Bangladesh Army Live stream, Durand Cup 2023: East Bengal will kick-off their campaign in the Durand Cup 2023 as the Kolkata giants take on Bangladesh Army in Group A match in Yuba Bharati Krirangan or Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Sunday (August 6).

The match excites plenty of East Bengal football fans as it will be the debut of new coach Carles Cuadrat, who landed in the city a week ago for his second stint after a long haul with Bengaluru FC as an assistant and then head coach from 2016 to 2021.

The East Bengal coach has already named his squad for Durand Cup 2023 with all the key names are featuring, including the new signings Nandhakumar Sekar, and Mandar Rao Desai among the big moves. Last season's find Naorem Mahesh Singh is in the squad as well with Harmanjot Khabra, VP Suhair also featuring.

New foreign captures of the transfer season, Javier Siverio, Borja Herrera, Saul Crespo are named as well while Brazilian Cleiton Silva is the only retained overseas player from the last season. Also, Jose Pardo and Jordan Elsey were also named in the squad after being revealed as new signings on Saturday.

Interestingly, this is not the opening match of the season for East Bengal, who have fielded their youth development team under Bino George at the Calcutta Football League. The team put in a credible performance as well with four wins in a six-match unbeaten run and are placed just a point behind the leaders at second in Group B.

The performances of the players were appreciated by Carles Cuadrat, who attended at least two of the matches and picked youngsters for the senior squad. Among the notable inclusions are Jesin TK, Gurnaj Singh Grewal, Vanlalpeka Guite, Edwin Vanspaul, Athul Unnikrishnan and others.
