This is also the last match of Group B for the season with Bhawanipore FC (27 points) and Kidderpore SC are the other two sides, who are through to the Super Six. The stunning show of East Bengal, who are fielding U-23 side for CFL 2023 under junior head coach Bino George, ascertains the presence of ardent supporters at their home group on Thursday as the club looks to recover from Kolkata Derby defeat in the Durand Cup final 2023 four days ago.
Bino George's attack-at-all-cost approach helped in the development of some unheralded names in Dip Saha, Avishek Kunjam, Aman CK, Kush Chhetry, Gurnaj Singh Grewal, Jesin TK, among others with Kunjam also in the run for the golden boot with five goals to his name so far. However, that hasn't confirmed his name in the line-up as the coach has a horses-for-courses approach.
