East Bengal vs Jamshedpur FC - As it Happened

The game began with both teams pressing high and creating early opportunities. East Bengal almost took the lead when Cleiton Silva's close-range attempt was denied by an acrobatic save from Albino Gomes. Moments later, Anwar Ali's long-range strike rattled the post, keeping the score level.

Jamshedpur FC responded in the ninth minute when Stephen Eze set up Javier Siverio with a clever pass, but the Spaniard's effort hit the side netting. Injuries forced early substitutions for both teams, with East Bengal's Mohamad Rakip replaced by Jeakson Singh, and Jamshedpur's Sourav Das making way for Pronay Halder.

Jamshedpur started the second half brightly but lacked precision in the final third. East Bengal's pressure paid off in the 60th minute when Dimitrios Diamantakos converted a cross from Nandhakumar Sekar. Cleiton Silva's involvement in the buildup was crucial, as Jamshedpur's defense was caught off guard.

Despite Jamshedpur's attempts to find an equalizer in the final stages, the Torch Bearers held firm, showcasing excellent defensive organization to secure a hard-fought victory.

The victory is also the first consecutive home win in the ISL for East Bengal in their history, as the Red and Gold Brigade continue their resurgence in the season despite a hapless start. The Kolkata club has now also jumped to 10th place in the ISL points table with 13 points, while the Men of Steel remain 7th in the table after their narrow defeat.

What's Next?

East Bengal will look to extend their winning run when they face Hyderabad FC on December 28. Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC will aim to bounce back in their clash against Kerala Blasters FC on December 29.
