East Bengal are up against Jamshedpur FC in the first Semifinal of the Kalinga Super Cup 2024 on Wednesday (January 24).
The Kolkata giants qualified after winning Group A with all nine points, while Jamshedpur topped Group B in excellent fashion. These two in-form teams will be hoping to reach the Final of the Super Cup for the first time in their history.

Carles Cuadrat's East Bengal recorded a magnificent victory over arch-rivals Mohun Bagan to cement their spot in the Kalinga Super Cup semifinals. On the other hand, the Red Miners needed to see off a sturdy Kerala Blasters challenge to make it to the knockouts.
The Torch Bearers from Kolkata have been devoid of titles for some time and this is a perfect opportunity for them to get closer to another trophy. Similarly, Jamshedpur FC would take this tournament as a pathway to resurrect their dismal ISL campaign so far.

Cleiton Silva (EBFC): Cleiton Silva has been the driving force for East Bengal in this tournament. The 36-year-old Brazilian scored a brace in the first match against Hyderabad FC, and then scored another brace in the derby win over Mohun Bagan. He will be the most pivotal player for the Red and Gold brigade in the semifinal.

Daniel Chima Chukwu (JFC): Daniel Chima Chukwu is in a rich vein of form and he has shown that in the Super Cup. Netting 3 goals in two matches, the Nigerian is the main man for the Red Miners and will be hoping to rack up goals in the knockout stages.
For East Bengal, Cleiton Silva is certain to start and lead them. Javier Siverio had a modest last match but Cuadrat may start him ahead of Vishnu or any others. In midfield, the pair of Borja and Saul have done wonders for them but the former is not available for the semifinal.
Jamshedpur FC coach Khalid Jamil may go all guns blazing, which means Semboi Haokip can pair with Steve Ambri up front. They may revert to a back four and Jeremy Manzorro can play along with Alen Stevanovic in the midfield, with the latter playing a bit more advanced role.
