Every East Bengal and Mohun Bagan fan was waiting to hear the final date for the Kolkata derby match. It seems the solution might have arrived, but it will not be to everyone's satisfaction. As per various reports, the match will be played on March 10.

However, it will start at a later time at 9:00 PM, rather than 7:30 PM, which brings a whole set of new problems for everyone. Reports from InsideSport suggest that the timing was decided after talks with the state's Sports Ministry.

As the hosts for this Kolkata derby, East Bengal held a conversation with them and proposed the timing. Understandably, they didn't want to play at a different stadium where they would not get the advantage of playing in front of the massive home crowd that attend the derby.

However, that begs the question, considering the lack of transportation availability they will face when the match ends at around 11:00 PM, will the supporters flock to the stadium if the match starts at 9:00 PM? Especially the fans that travel far from outside of Kolkata and suburban areas.

The report also suggests that ISL and FSDL are yet to approve the time change. The Kolkata derby is one of the most important games of the Indian Super League. FSDL might not want to delay the match to such a time which could harm their number of viewers. From the broadcasting perspective, it doesn't seem a very suitable option for the FSDL.

Reportedly, the home team for this match, East Bengal also haven't yet sent any formal request to Mohun Bagan for this change in timing. Even if the Mariners agree to the timings, the rest of the problems still stand tall and East Bengal will still have a plethora of new issues in their hand to solve.
