The 132nd Durand Cup is now approaching its business end, with the first semi-final match set to take place between East Bengal, a home team on a winning streak, and NorthEast United FC (NEUFC), who are about to play one of their most significant games in their nine-year history.
This highly anticipated match will be hosted at the esteemed Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) stadium on Tuesday (August 29) and the match is set to start at 6:00 pm IST.

The Highlanders have been performing exceptionally throughout this tournament with an exciting blend of young talent and seasoned players. Under the guidance of new Spanish coach Juan Pedro Benali, they have shown great teamwork. If they acclimatize well after travelling from Guwahati, they could certainly challenge the home team.
"This semi-final isn't just another match. We're playing in Kolkata against the home team, in front of their fans. We're here to represent our region and fight for our people. Our fans believe in us and we want to make them proud. Together, as one, we'll give it our all and make history," Northeast coach Benali said ahead of the match.
East Bengal beat Gokulam Kerala 2-1 in the quarter finals, whereas a 1-0 scoreline was enough for Northeast to topple Indian Army. This will also be the Highlanders' first match in Kolkata as they have played all their group matches and the quarter final in Guwahati.
East Bengal coach Carles Cuadrat reckons it will be a tough match against Northeast, but asserted the Red and Gold Brigade are heading in the right direction.
"We are in the semi-finals after playing out an intense quarter-final against Gokulam. NorthEast United have been unbeaten in this tournament so far. They have a good mix of youth and experience, which makes them a very competitive opponent," Cuadrat said.
