Despite being a man down, NorthEast United continued to push forward, but East Bengal managed to hold on to their lead, thanks to some key defensive interventions and a string of crucial saves from their goalkeeper, Gill. With NEUFC unable to capitalize on their late pressure, the match ended 1-0 in favor of East Bengal.
