London, Feb 15: Eden Hazard has backed his team for a top-four finish in the Premier League and urged his teammate to their best in the remaining two competitions, Uefa Champions League and FA Cup.
The last year's League winners currently have been struggling to maintain the same rhythm and already fighting it hard to even maintain a top-four spot.
The team although are currently at the fourth however in 2018 they only managed to win three matches over all competitions out of 11.
They bowed out from the semi-final of the Carabo Cup competitions after suffering defeats from the hands of arch-rivals Arsenal and also lost back to back matches against Bournemouth and Watford before coming back to winning ways last weekend.
Hazard who has been the standout performer of these season for the Blues and helped them to win their last match against West Brom with a 3-0 victory, scoring two goals now has asked team-mates to deliver such jovial performance on a regular basis and suggested his team must strive to finish in the Premier League’s top four at least to secure Champions League football for next season.
“It was a good response to the two losses. We have great players and we need to finish in the top four at the end of the season, that’s our target,” Hazard told the club’s website.
“We have 11 games to play between now and then and we have to give everything to achieve that.”
The Belgian player of the year also has urged his team-mates to give their all in FA Cup competitions which at the moment is the most realistic for them with the hopes of winning at least one trophy this season.
”We are all together,“ Hazard said. ”We have to work and win games. When you play for Chelsea you have to put this in your mind and give everything on the pitch.
”We need to be in the top four, for the Champions League next season, and it would be good if we can take the FA Cup. We are also in the Champions League, it’s not easy to win the Champions League but we will go for everything.
“We have three months to play until the end of the season and we have to give everything to reach our targets. When you play for Chelsea, the target has to be to win trophies."
The Blues will face championship strugglers Hull City next at their home this weekend and later will confront a high-flying Barcelona side in Champions league in a mouth-watering clash next midweek.
