Eliezer Mayenda has secured a new long-term deal with Sunderland, extending his stay until 2030. The 20-year-old forward was instrumental in Sunderland's play-off final victory over Sheffield United last season. He scored the equalising goal in that match. In the 2024-25 Championship season, Mayenda netted 10 goals across 40 appearances, only trailing Wilson Isidor, who scored 13 for the team.

Mayenda's contributions were not limited to goals alone. He was involved in 15 goals, sharing the top spot with Isidor for goal involvements within the team. Additionally, Mayenda completed 54 dribbles, second only to Patrick Roberts' 72 in the league. Expressing his joy about the contract extension, Mayenda said on Sunderland's website, "I'm very happy to sign a new contract.
