London, July 11: After a year-long link-up and almost a month after signing for Juventus, former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can finally opened up about his move to Italy.
Can joined Liverpool in 2014 and was a regular first-team player under the last two Liverpool managers, Brendon Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp. However, following the end of his contract this July, the defensive midfielder did not accept to renew his contract with the Merseysiders and instead opted to sign for Italian giants Juventus.
The 24-year-old German international, who made 37 appearances for Liverpool last season signed for the Serie A winners as a free agent, apparently pocketed around £14million signing-on fee to be paid in instalments over the next two years.
As per reports, the reason behind his exit from Anfield was due to a bitter relationship with Kloop. But in his first conference, Can now has dismissed all such speculations and claimed Klopp wished him good luck for the move.
"I had problems with Klopp? No, I had no problems with Klopp. I had a very good relationship with him," Can said.
"At the end, he wished me all the best here. I never had problems with Klopp."
