Bengaluru, February 8: A top Italian football agent claims Juventus have agreed a deal for Liverpool star Emre Can on a free transfer this summer.

Federico Pastorello, who is good friends with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, has stated that the German will join Juventus on a free transfer when his contract with the Reds expires in the summer.

Liverpool are desperate to make the 24-year-old stay at the club but have been left smarting after he rebuffed talks over a new deal.

The manager Jurgen Klopp has even handed Can the captaincy on various occasions this season in the hope that his recognition as a senior player will coax him into staying.

However, it seems that Juventus have succeeded in their pursuit of the former Bayer Leverkusen ace.

The Italians boast a brilliant record of signing top-class players for low price or even without a fee and Emre Can on a free transfer would be another big coup by them.

Pastorello believes Bianconeri chiefs have pulled off a sensational move, saying: “Can is a huge coup, even more so because he’ll arrive on a free transfer.

“Marotta and Paratici have done very well. Juve are a club that attract champions, and important signals are coming from the German.”

Liverpool already have a new midfielder arriving this summer in the form of RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita.

But despite signing Virgil van Dijk for a club-record fee last month, they also parted ways with Philippe Coutinho and we can expect them to be quite active in the upcoming transfer window in the summer.

If Can leaves then club, the Reds are expected to be in the market for another midfielder to partner Naby Keita.
