Bengaluru, March 8: Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has claimed that all reviews regarding his Anfield future have been put on hold until the end of the 2017-18 season as he is currently only focused on a strong finish to the season with Liverpool. Can is currently in the final three months of his current deal at Anfield and Liverpool have reportedly offered him a new contract extension.
However, the 23-year-old is believed to be have stalled the deal which now makes him eligible to sign a pre-contract for next summer with other clubs, and Juventus have emerged as the favourites to land the promising midfielder.
Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta also openly admitted that the club is doing everything to bring the player to Turin whereas the possibility of Bayern luring away another German player on a free transfer is also surfacing in the market.
However, the German now has distanced himself from any potential transfer and suggested he does not want to involve himself in any situation and as of now his entire concern is finishing the season as strongly as possible.
Speaking after Liverpool's goalless draw with Porto in their last game, Can said: "Of course, I have to think about my footballing future.
"I haven't signed for any other club, I'm just focused on this season. We want to finish in second place in the Premier League, we're in the Champions League quarter-finals and we want to progress. That's all I'm focused on now.
"My agent has blocked all the negotiations, I'm thinking only of football."
Can joined Liverpool from Leverkusen under then manager Brendon Rodgers for £9.75 million in 2014 and since then has developed as one of the key players of the current Liverpool side.
The midfielder has been a regular under Jurgen Klopp and has already made 24 appearances for the Reds in Premier league this season, scoring on three occasions.
