Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cole Palmer, and Declan Rice are among the notable players missing from England's squad for the upcoming Nations League matches. The team faces Greece on Thursday and then plays against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley three days later. Eight key players will be absent for these fixtures.
Alexander-Arnold was substituted in the 25th minute during Liverpool's 2-0 victory over Aston Villa. Although Arne Slot hopes his injury is not severe, his absence is significant for England. In the Premier League this season, only Mohamed Salah has created more chances (21) than Alexander-Arnold (20).

Cole Palmer also misses out after a challenge from Lisandro Martinez during Chelsea's draw with Manchester United. Despite playing against Arsenal later, he is unavailable now. This season, Palmer has been involved in 12 goals (seven goals, five assists) in the Premier League, second only to Salah's 14.
Arsenal's Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice are also sidelined. Rice missed their Champions League loss to Inter due to a foot injury and was substituted in the 71st minute against Chelsea. Saka left the field limping ten minutes before full-time at Stamford Bridge.
Phil Foden and Jack Grealish are also unavailable. Pep Guardiola expressed frustration over Grealish's inclusion by Lee Carsley after ruling him out of Manchester City's trip to Brighton. Additionally, Aaron Ramsdale from Southampton and Levi Colwill from Chelsea have withdrawn from the initial squad of 26 players.
This situation has allowed Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa to receive his first senior call-up after impressing under Unai Emery this season. Rogers has contributed three goals and three assists in 15 appearances across all competitions for Villa, with only Jhon Duran and Ollie Watkins surpassing his total with eight each.
Jarrod Bowen and Jarrad Branthwaite have been added to Lee Carsley's ranks alongside uncapped players Tino Livramento and James Trafford.
