Lee Carsley, the manager of England's Under-21 team, has announced his squad for the European Championship in Slovakia. Notably absent is striker Liam Delap, who recently transferred to Chelsea. Delap is expected to join Chelsea in the United States for the Club World Cup starting on 14 June. The U21 Euros are scheduled from 11 to 28 June.
Sunderland's Jobe Bellingham has been included in the squad but might withdraw if his speculated move to Borussia Dortmund materialises. Dortmund's group includes Fluminense, Ulsan HD, and Mamelodi Sundowns. Meanwhile, Chelsea will compete against Flamengo, Esperance de Tunis, and Los Angeles FC.

Among those selected are Premier League champions Jarell Quansah and Harvey Elliott. They are joined by Manchester City's James McAtee and Newcastle United's Tino Livramento. England enters the tournament as defending champions after their 2023 victory. Only Charlie Cresswell from Toulouse and Elliott remain from that winning team.
England's campaign kicks off on 12 June against Czechia, followed by Slovenia three days later, and concluding with Germany on 18 June. West Bromwich Albion's Tom Fellows will accompany the team as an additional training player.
The full squad includes goalkeepers James Beadle (Brighton), Teddy Sharman-Lowe (Chelsea), and Tommy Simkin (Stoke City). Defenders feature Charlie Cresswell (Toulouse), Ronnie Edwards (Southampton), CJ Egan-Riley (Burnley), Tino Livramento (Newcastle), Brooke Norton Cuffy (Genoa), and Jarell Quansah (Liverpool).
The midfielders are Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Jobe Bellingham (Sunderland), Archie Gray (Tottenham Hotspur), Hayden Hackney (Middlesbrough), Jack Hinshelwood (Brighton), Tyler Morton (Liverpool), and Alex Scott (Bournemouth).
The forwards include Harvey Elliott (Liverpool), Omari Hutchinson (Ipswich Town), Sam Iling Junior (Aston Villa), James McAtee (Manchester City), Ethan Nwaneri (Arsenal), Jonathan Rowe (Marseille), and Jay Stansfield (Birmingham City).
