England's journey in the Euro 2024 starts with a date against Serbia in the Group C encounter on Sunday (June 16) at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen.
England will be hoping to start their quest for continental glory on a perfect note as they play Serbia. Gareth Southgate has named a strong squad and this England unit will be scrutinized with their performance in Germany.

Serbia, on the other hand, always is a strong outfit and can surprise any teams. With a very well-balanced team of their own, they would be hoping to topple the Three Lions.
England's recent form is a cause for concern as the Three Lions have won only one out of their last five matches. They lost against Brazil earlier this year and recently had a shock defeat against Iceland. Serbia are not that good either with just two wins in last five, losing against Austria and Russia in this period.
England do have a strong unit available for selection against Serbia. The Three Lions are likely to play with a 4-2-3-1 formation as two sitting midfielders can play a big part in thwarting the Serbian attackers.
Declan Rice looks one of the obvious choices in the central midfield position, and Trent Alexander-Arnold may pair him in that position.
In the centre of defense, Marc Guehi and John Stones are likely to pair up, while Kyle Walker will be playing as right-back. England do have a few options in the left-back area but it looks like Kieran Trippier may fill in the role as Luke Shaw may be introduced in coming matches. The role of Stones and Guehi will be crucial as Serbia may pair Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic up top.
In the attack, Gareth Southgate has plenty of flair and quality, but Bukayo Saka looks certain to start on the right with Phil Foden on the other side of the wing. Jude Bellingham may play the role as the no. 10 with Harry Kane up front leading the line.
