The Frenchman is not satisfied with the transfer activity this summer despite making the signing of the season with Spanish playmaker Santi Cazorla and Germany international Lukas Podolski.

However, the 62-year-old has not found the perfect replacement for his former dutch star Van Persie. Although Wenger spent £13 million on Oliver Giroud, the French international has not played to expectations scoring just one Premier League goal.

Wenger has also tried winger Gervinho in a central attacking position and the Ivorian has impressed in bits, leading the goal-scoring charts this season. But the manager is not completely convinced with moving a right winger to a forward position.

With £35 million to spend next year, Wenger has a few big names in mind including Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente, Atletico Madrid forward Adrian Lopez, Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina and Palermo's Abel Hernandez.

Llorente, 27, will be out of contract at the end of the season as Arsenal hope to sign him on a cut-price deal. Adrian has been the Gunners long-term target while Jovetic, 22, has also drawn interests from English champions Manchester City.

The Gunners also plan to clear out some of their unwanted stars, Nicklas Bendtner, Carlos Vela, Manuel Almunia, Denilson and Park Chu-young have left the club on loan or on a permanent basis while the North London club will look to offload Marouane Chamakh, Sebastien Squillaci and Andrey Arshavin.

Arsenal are also eyeing Crystal Palace's young forward Wilfried Zaha, 19, if Theo Walcott decides to leave the club after failing to agree terms.
