EPL 2012 13: Aston Villa vs Reading FC Preview

Birmingham, Nov 27: Currently in the relegation zone, Aston Villa and Reading go head-to-head at Villa Park to snatch all three points in the midweek fixture on Tuesday night.

Both sides will be desperate to keep themselves out of the drop zone with the home side having more advantage but the Villans have not won at home since September while the Royals have managed two points in six away games.

Paul Lambert's side have the joint-worst goal scoring record this term with 10 goals and the biggest question is whether Darren Bent will return to the starting XI. The £24m striker was not included in the squad against Arsenal last weekend.

Villa captain Ron Vlaar is likely to miss out after being substituted with a calf injury against Arsenal.

For Reading, winger Jimmy Kebe is a major doubt with a groin injury while Jem Karacan and Danny Guthrie returned to training but may not feature.

Trivia:

*Aston Villa have won seven out of eight league meetings with Reading.

*Villa's recent home record reads W1 D6 L4

*Reading last beat Villa in Febraury 2007, winning 2-0 at home.

Probable Lineups:

Aston Villa (4-4-2): Guzman-Lichaj, Lowton, , Clark, Stevens-Westwood, Bannan, Weimann, Agbonlahor-Ireland-Benteke

Reading (4-4-2): Federici-Gunter, Morrison, Gorkss, Shorey-Robson-Kanu, Leigertwood, Tabb, McAnuff-Le Fondre, Roberts
