EPL: Chelsea held, Man City win, Newcastle shocked
Premier League results report - Game Week 11
After dropping points against Swansea and Manchester United, the Blues look to seal three crucial points to remain in the hunt for top spot.
Liverpool, however, have an impressive record the Londoners in recent past, winning four league games in a row. But comparing Chelsea's overall talent to Liverpool's depleted squad, the odds are against the Reds this time out.
While Liverpool rely on lone striker Luis Suarez, Chelsea have the likes of Juan Mata, Oscar and Eden Hazard upfront.
But Chelsea will miss the experience of left-back Ashley Cole and veteran midfielder Frank Lampard. Defender John Terry will be fighting for a place in the starting XI after missing out the UEFA Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk.
David Luiz returns after serving his one-match ban and is likely to start alongside Gary Cahill in the centre of defence.
Meanwhile, Liverpool right-back could start against his former side after recovering from a hamstring injury. Goalkeeper Pepe Reina is still out with a similar problem but could return next week.
Trivia:
*Liverpool have lost only two of their last 11 Premier League games against Chelsea.
*Chelsea have now failed to keep a clean sheet in five games.
*Fernando Torres has scored five goals in four games against Chelsea during his Liverpool days but is yet to score against his former side.
Probable Lineups:
Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Cech-Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Bertrand-Mikel, Ramirez-Oscar, Mata, Hazard-Torres
Liverpool (4-3-3): Jones-Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique-Gerrard, Allen, Sahin-Sterling, Suarez, Suso
