EPL 2012-13: Liverpool vs Reading Preview

Liverpool, Oct 20: Liverpool hope to win their first game at Anfield as they take on relegation threatened Reading side on Saturday.

The Royals, placed 18th in the league, hope to upset the Reds who have won just two of their 13 Premier League home games in 2012. Brian McDermott's men are yet to win this season.

Luis Suarez remains Liverpool's lone striker as Fabio Borini is sidelined with broken foot while goalkeeper Pepe Reina faces a late fitness test after sustaining a hamstring strain during international duty.

Manager Brendan Rodgers gets a defensive boost as young right-back John Flanagan and left-back Jose Enrique returned to training this week. Midfielder Jonjo Shelvey returns after serving a three-match suspension.

Meanwhile, for Reading, apart from forward Noel Hunt, who is a doubt for the Anfield clash, the Royals do not have further injury concerns.

Liverpool's dreadful start to the season is getting worse week after week with injury to key players especially striker Borini. However, the Italian is yet to settle down at Anfield scoring just once since joining the Reds.

Trivia:

*Liverpool have just 6 points in seven games this season.

*Reading have only three in six games.

Probable Lineups:

Liverpool (4-3-3): Reina-Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Jose Enrique-Shelvey, Allen-Henderson, Gerrard, Sterling-Suarez.

Reading (4-5-1): McCarthy-Cummings, Mariappa, Gorkss, Harte-Kebe, Guthrie, Karacan, McAnuff, Pogrebnyak-Leigertwood.
