EPL 2012-13: Manchester City transfers and rumours so far

Manchester, Jul 24: After spending a fortune in the past few seasons, Manchester City bosses have yet to splash the millions on some of the best footballers across the world. Manager Roberto Mancini has made Arsenal want-away striker Robin van Persie his top targets ahead of the next season.

But the Gunners clearly rejected a bid from City, believed to be in the region of £15m, far less than Arsenal's asking price of £20-25m. Manchester United and Juventus had similar bids rejected. However, the 28-year old Dutch star has demanded a £10m-a-year salary package.

Mancini has been given clear instructions to offload players in order to bring in Van Persie. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Carlos Tevez has been linked with a move to AC Milan while Juventus are lining up a bid for Edin Dzeko.

But Mancini insisted both strikers will not be sold despite a long line of forwards with Mario Balotelli and Sergio Aguero.

Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has shown his interests in defender Micah Richards and is planning to bid £20m for the England international. But City are not willing to reduce their asking price of £25m.

Spanish playmaker David Silva has attracted several clubs after an impressive campaign at the Euro 2012. Real Madrid had stepped up to take the former Valencia man to Bernabeu but City have offered a lucrative £190,000-a-week package.

City alongwith Zenit St. Petersburg are chasing Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel while defensive midfielder Nigel de Jong could be on his way to Munich after Bayern Munich contacted the Premier League champions.

Kolo Toure's move to Saudi Arabia giants Al Hilal was in doubt after the defender demanded £50,000 a week - tax-free, a rent-free home, two cars, paid-for flights and an extra £800,000 in advance as agent's fee.

After failing to sign Daniele de Rossi last time around, City have once again shown their interests in the 28-year old Italian international. The Blues are planning to bid £28m for the defensive midfielder.

Completed Transfers:

Ins: None

Outs: Owen Hargreaves (released), Gunnar Nielsen (released), Stuart Taylor (released), Wayne Bridge (Brighton-loan), Greg Cunningham (Bristol City-free)
