London, Jan 19: QPR boss Harry Redknapp faces former club West Ham, Manchester City look to close gap, mid-table battle with Swansea taking on Stoke City, Newcastle aim to move away from danger zone, all the previews from the Barclays Premier League on Game Week 23.
Tottenham vs Manchester United Preview
Liverpool vs Norwich City - Anfield
Brendan Rodgers and his Liverpool side will be keen to climb up the table when they take on Norwich City at Anfield.
The Reds should be able to grab all three points with ease as Norwich are currently going through a run of four losses in five games while the Reds have won five of their last seven league games at Anfield.
Manchester City vs Fulham - Etihad Stadium
Manchester City have recovered from their shocking loss at Sunderland with a hat-trick of wins in the league and now look to close the gap on table toppers Manchester United when they entertain Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.
City are on a run of four wins in their last five while Fulham managed to win against Blackpool in the FA Cup but their league form has not been great. Martin Jol's men have won one game in five outings.
Swansea City vs Stoke City - Liberty Stadium
Swansea have an impressive record at home, losing twice in 17 games but Stoke have one of the best defence in the league. Both teams have their own style of football and will battle it out in the south of Wales at the Liberty Stadium.
The Swans have to look into their Capital One Cup tie against Chelsea on Wednesday. Michael Laudrup will be aware of suffering in the league while chasing cup glories and it shows in their recent form, winning once in seven games.
Newcastle vs Reading - St James Park
Newcastle are going through a tough phase, injuries, losses, a wantaway captain, failed transfers and the worst of all is they are only two points above the relegation zone.
But Alan Pardew will be confident of positive results against the league strugglers. Reading have not won an away game this season and the return of influencial midfielder Yohan Cabaye should ease off any pressure.
West Ham United vs Queens Park Rangers - Upton Park
Bottom of the league QPR take on London rivals West Ham at Upton Park. Harry Redknapp's men cannot afford to drop points especially against his former side. QPR are coming into this game after an away victory at West Brom in the FA cup and the Londoners have kept three clean sheets in their last four games.
The Hammers, playing at home, will look to get back to winning ways after back to back defeats.
Wigan Athletic vs Sunderland - DW Stadium
Wigan are currently struggling to get out of the relegation battle and home comforts doesn't sound good either. The Latics have not won at home for over two months.
Despite their shock FA cup exit, Sunderland have won four in seven, a drastic improvement considering the same number of wins in their last 29 games.
West Brom Albion vs Aston Villa - The Hawthorns
West Brom are not in the same form as they were at the start of the season. It was their best start to a Premier League season but those days are far gone after six defeats in their last nine outings. The 3-2 loss against league strugglers Reading left Steve Clarke 'shell-shocked' and they now face another team in Aston Villa trying to survive.
Paul Lambert could face the axe if results do not show up but the Villans away record points towards less hope rather than signs of positivity.
Southampton vs Everton - St Mary's Stadium
Southampton fans are furious over the sacking of Nigel Adkins, who helped them gain back-to-back promotions, and their recent form in the Premier League does not justify his removal as manager.
New coach Mauricio Pochettino had previously saved Espanyol from relegation and helped the clubs to four successive mid-table finishes. But Southampton are already out of the danger zone with just two losses in 11 league games. Everton have only won two of their last 13 visits to Southampton.
