Manchester United win 3-2 in thrilling derby
Fernando Torres inspired Chelsea to end their eight-match winless run with two goals in the 3-1 win over Sunderland. Juan Mata scored the third goal while Adam Johnson got one back for the Black Cats. The Blues are currently third in the league standings.
Arsenal also got back to winning ways with a comfortable but controversial 2-0 victory against West Brom Albion. Gunners were awarded to penalties which were converted by Mikel Arteta, however, the first spot kick was given after Spanish playmaker Santi Cazorla dived.
Queens Park Rangers set themselves an unwanted record going 16 games without a win. QPR drew 2-2 against Wigan Athletic on Saturday. During the 1990/91 season, Sheffield United were the only side to go on such an unbeaten run.
Norwich continued their unbeaten run after a thrilling 4-3 over Swansea City at the Liberty stadium. The Welsh side went down 3-0 in the first half but came back with two goals at the hour mark. It all ended when the Canaries scored their fourth 13 minutes from time.
Southampton moved out of the relegation zone after a 1-0 win over Reading on Saturday. Jason Puncheon scored the winner as the Saints moved to 15th place in the league standings.
Aston Villa and Stoke City played out a 0-0 draw at Villa Park. The Villans dominated throughout the game but couldn't breakdown the second-best defence in the Premier League.
Two late goals from Nikica Jelavic and Steven Pienaar took Everton to fourth pace after a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur. Clint Dempsey's strike seemed enough for Spurs but two late goals in added time turned the game around.
Liverpool secured only their second away win after beating West Ham United 3-2 at Upton Park. Glen Johnson's opener was cancelled out by a controversial penalty converted by Mark Noble. The Hammers went ahead before the break through Steven Gerrard's own goal. Joe Cole equalised in the second-half while Jonjo Shelvey scored the winner 10 minutes from time after diverting the ball off James Collins.
