Few Spanish playmakers, who are currently part of the Premier League, may not be the first choice for the national side but are key to their clubs success this season.
Santi Cazorla - Arsenal
Probably Arsene Wenger's best signing this season. Cazorla has had the highest touches this season, a total of 98 so far. The 27-year-old has 85 per cent success rate for passes made in the attacking third. The former Malaga and Villareal star is known for his dribbling and control with both feet. The Gunner has two goals in two assists in seven games.
Juan Mata - Chelsea
Given a break after a successful Euro campaign and a shameful Olympic run, Juan Mata returned with the same form with which he left before Chelsea were crowned European champions. The 24-year-old has four assists and a goal in six appearances for the Blues.
David Silva - Manchester City
Played a vital part in Spain's successful Euro campaign but was rested by manager Roberto Mancini due to fears of burning out, David Silva was Manchester City's midfield maestro last season, providing 17 assists to help City win the league. Despite a slow start this season, Silva is known for his clever runs and tricky passes. The 26-year-old is yet to open his account after seven games.
Michu - Swansea City
Michu's Premier League debut was like a dream, scoring twice and providing 1 assist in the 5-0 thrashing of Queens Park Rangers on the opening day. Michu, 26, continued to shine but failed to remain consistent due to defensive problems, losing three of their last 4 Premier League matches. Michael Laudrup's side have managed just 2 points in five games. However, the Spaniard has scored five goals so far.
Esteban Granero - Queens Park Rangers
Currently, 20th in the league, QPR are struggling to find the right combination which can help them earn their first win this season. After making 10 new signings during the transfer window, manager Mark Hughes' future is under threat after just seven games. But the former Real Madrid starlet has shown signs of promise in the middle of the park, making tireless runs, switching plays and even scoring a goal and providing an assist. The 25-year-old's efforts have been wasted but for the squad Rangers have they do not deserve to be in the relegation zone.
