EPL 2012-13: Tottenham vs Wigan Athletic Preview

London, Nov 3: Tottenham Hotspur hope to put away their Capital One Cup exit when they face Wigan Athletic at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

Spurs are favourite against the side whom they thrashed 9-1 two seasons ago but Wigan were the only team to have won at White Hart Lane last season.

Roberto Martinez's men will try to snatch a point and end their three-game losing streak away from home while Spurs will hope to hold on to the fourth spot with three points.

Andre Villas-Boas will be without midfielder Moussa Dembele, meaning Tom Huddlestone will play in the middle. Jake Livermore is a major doubt after suffering an ankle injury.

Wigan do not have fresh injury concerns but Japanese winger Ryo Miyaichi is sidelined with a groin injury and unlikely to be fit for the clash against Spurs.

Trivia:

*Tottenham beat Wigan 9-1 during the 2009-10 season, Jermain Defoe scored five goals.

*Wigan have won just once in four matches at White Hart Lane.

Probable Lineups:

Tottenham Hotspur (4-4-2): Friedel-Walker, Gallas, Caulker, Vertonghen-Lennon, Sigurdsson, Sandro, Bale-Dempsey, Defoe.

Wigan Athletic (3-5-2): Al-Habsi-Ramis, Caldwell, Figueroa-Boyce, McArthur, McCarthy, Beausejour-Maloney-Kone, Di Santo.
