Manchester United marked their EPL campaign with a crushing 3-0 victory over Newcastle United on Monday night.

Goals from Dimitar Berbatov who scored the opening goal in the 33rd minute, Darren Fletcher who scored in the 42nd minute and Ryan Giggs in the 85th minute sealed all three points for Sir Alex Ferguson"s side.

With arch-rivals Chelsea starting with a thumping 6-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, United are on track to match them as the season progresses.
The home side did have numerous chances to score more goals with high possession of the ball and match Chelsea's feat but were unable to convert their good possession to goals.

Newcastle United did came close in finding a goal in the first half through striker Andy Carroll, when he was left unmarked but he headed wide off the mark to miss the golden opportunity.
