EPL: Patrice Evra begins war against Arsenal

By Abdul Nisar
Old Trafford, Dec 10: The war of words has already begun before the much awaited match in English Premier League. The top ranker Arsenal is all set to meet Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday, Dec 13.

Just two days before the match, United defender Patrice Evra has scored the first penalty by calling Arsenal a "crisis club". During an interview, Evra described Arsenal a club in crisis and mocked their five-year trophy drought saying them as a "training centre."

"For me, Arsenal is a football training centre. You watch the match, you enjoy it, but are you going to win a title afterwards? That's what people remember," Evra said.

"It has been five years since they won anything and for a big club like Arsenal, that is a crisis." he added.

Despite of Arsenal's top ranking and Champions League knockout birth, Evra was not ready to accept their potentials. He stated Chelsea as the real enemy to the United.

"Our real enemy is Chelsea. We are more concerned with Chelsea's results than those of Arsenal, even if we know Arsenal are a great team who can beat Chelsea, us (United) or anyone," Evra said.

"People say that Arsenal play good football but, as far as we are concerned, we dominated them comfortably. Playing well is not everything in this game. We were 11 men and they were 11 children," Evra added.

Anyhow, the recordbook justifies Evra's statements. During the last ten matches against Chelsea and Manchester United, Arsenal failed to taste even a single victory. Can Arsenal give a befitting reply to Evra at Old Trafford?
