EPL 2012-13: Premier League results report - Game Week 21

London, Jan 3: Chelsea shocked by QPR, Manchester United maintain top spot, Arsenal frustrated by Southampton, Newcastle continue to struggle, Liverpool progress upwards, all the Barclays Premier League results on Game Week 20.

Chelsea dropped a place down to fourth after a shock 1-0 defeat to Premier League strugglers Queens Park Rangers at Stamford Bridge. A 77-minute striker from Shaun Wright-Phillips helped QPR win their second game this season. However, Harry Redknapp's side remain at the bottom of the table.

Luis Suarez continued his sublime form with another brace to thrash Sunderland 3-0 at Anfield. The Reds moved up to eighth spot after another victory while Sunderland are only four points clear from the drop.

Newcastle United have now lost three in a row, the latest was against Everton. Leighton Baines and Victor Anichebe scored after Papiss Demba Cisse netted warly on.

West Brom Albion failed to keep up with their high flying start after losing 2-1 at the Hawthorns against Fulham. Steve Clarke's side have now lost back-to-back matches and are currently seventh in the league while Fulham ended their winless run.

Stoke City suffered their heaviest defeat this season after being dominated by defending champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. The 3-0 win over the best defence in the league kept City seven-points behind league leaders Manchester United.

Swansea City avoided defeat thanks to Danny Graham's late equaliser against Aston Villa. The game ended 2-2 at the Liberty Stadium with Villa only two points clear from the relegation zone.

Tottenham moved to third place with a 3-1 win over Reading at White Hart Lane. Spurs have gone unbeaten in five league games thanks to goals from Michael Dawson, Emmanuel Adebayor and Clint Dempsey.

West Ham United are back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Norwich City. First-half goals from Mark Noble and Joey O'Brien sealed all three points. Hammers avoided a late comeback from the visitors as Russell Martin pulled one back during injury-time.

Javier Hernandez and Robin van Persie kept Manchester United and top and seven-points clear of title rivals Manchester City as they beat Wigan Athletic 4-0. The Latics are currently placed 18th with 18 points.

Arsenal were denied all three points after drawing 1-1 against Southampton. The Gunners failed to close the gap on top four spots while Southampton are on 17th place with 18 points, level with relegation dwellers Wigan Athletic
